The Budding Leaders Program is a training and mentorship program focused on providing adolescent girls with the skills and tools they need to succeed in life.
Sparked by the stories represented by “Wanjiku” and other 10-16 year old girls who are forced out of school due to substance addiction or teenage pregnancy. As well as, the stories of “Mueni” and other 16-18 year old girls who go into early marriage because they do not see another future for themselves.
The Budding Leaders Program, can be offered as a school club/program as well as a community club/program, with a focus on:
We start with creating an understanding of one's self and how they show up to the world. We build the girls' belief in their own internal capabilities, fostering self-confidence and personal growth.
Here we create awareness on what it takes to be a great leader and the different skills required in leadership such as problem solving. We also create exposure to other great leaders.
Here we teach the basics of running a business. If a girl is unable to transition into higher learning, she is not left vulnerable and can start a small business to sustain herself and save.
Here we help the budding leaders identify ways to succeed in their ideal career path based on their personality and areas of interest
We look to journey with the girls as we build their CONFIDENCE, develop their LEADERSHIP muscles, spark their ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT and help them make informed CAREER decisions. We incorporate FUN activities in all our sessions to make them memorable and enjoyable for the children.
